The Smart Energy Alliance will be at European Utility Week in Paris from November 12 to 14

Energy, DIGITAL technology, mobility

The Smart Energy French Clusters Alliance was founded in 2018 to coordinate the activities of eleven French clusters specializing in energy, digital technology, and mobility. The Alliance recently overhauled its organization and operating charter and changed its name to Smart Energy Alliance.

Key Figures

The Smart Energy Alliance has a strong track record of joint initiatives to drive innovation forward in its members target industries. Today, the Alliance represents 2,200 stakeholders, including 1,500 small and medium-sized businesses and has certified more than 2,500 R&D projects for total spending of €9 billion.

A Trusted partner

In June 2019 Ms. Elisabeth Logeais, Director of the Tenerrdis energy cluster, was elected Executive Director of the Alliance, where she succeeds outgoing Executive Director Gérard le Bihan. André Joffre, President of cluster Derbi, was appointed Chairman of the new Strategy Committee. “Our objective is to support and promote the development of key differentiators in all of our members’ target industries and facilitate our member companies’ access to international markets,” said Ms. Logeais

We want to position the Alliance as a trusted partner for policymakers, capable of mobilizing our communities’ innovation ecosystems!

One of the ways the Alliance is helping shape policy is by actively participating in the French government’s National Council for Industry Strategy Committees and, especially, the New Energy Systems Strategy Committee.

International reach

Alliance members were exhibiting together in the France pavilion at European Utility Week in Paris on November 12 to 14, 2019. This type of major industry event represents a valuable opportunity for the Alliance to build relationships between French and international stakeholders. On November 12, the Alliance partnered with the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) on a brokerage event designed to help participants identify the relevant partners for joint submissions to EU Horizon 2020 calls for projects in 2020.
